The problem of moving patients is compounded by the increasing weight of patients to be lifted (due to the obesity epidemic) and the rapidly increasing number of older people who are too frail to move on their own. Moving patients without the use of a friction-reducing device can cause back and musculoskeletal injuries. With EZ Glide you can easily and safely transfer patients between surfaces. Using the log roll technique, position the EZ Glide so one open end is near the patient's shoulder and the other open end is near the patient's hips. EZ Glide should be about halfway under the patient. Make sure both origin and destination surfaces are as close together as possible. Once everything is set up as securely as possible, slide patient over.
